So, back in the day, my husband and I facilitated a course in our Church.
The course started by asking us to find out what our name means… and because of this, I got to know myself really well.
I have dealt with quite a bit of rejection in my life as I was an unwanted child. My Mom had many miscarriages, and two years before I was born, she birthed a baby boy, but he only lived for 1 day.
My Dad was an active alcoholic by the time that I arrived and I believe my mom might have been at a point where she was over wanting children… especially with her circumstances.
After many years of my own journey to self-love, I now know that I was meant to be here.
Although my parents did not put any thought into naming me… divinely, I received the perfect name for me… this is also the biggest reason why I believe I can firmly trust in my process of life. My parents said that they saw my name on a boat in Cape Town harbour where my Dad used to work.
My name means:
Juanita as a girl’s name is of Spanish and Hebrew origin meaning “God is gracious”.
In Hebrew, the meaning of the name Juanita – ironically – is: Gift from God. My mom died more than three years ago and I do not know if she even realized that she eventually did receive her gift from God. I have also not shared this with my Dad who has thankfully won his battle with alcohol many years ago.
When I googled my name some more, I found this new info:
You are honest, benevolent, brilliant, and often inventive, full of high inspirations. You are courageous, honest, determined, original, and creative. You are a leader, especially for a good cause. Sometimes you do not care to finish what you start, and may leave details to others. You can do well in the position of authority, and prospers in intellectual and professional fields. Emergencies may raise your intuitive abilities in order to resolve conflict or a situation. You become very creative under pressure and have quite original ideas to make the best out of it. Dependable, very down-to-earth, and well-grounded, you are always looking for meaningful work, a career where you can take pride in your work and do the best job you are capable of. Your prime desire is to build a protected and secure environment at home and at work. You can be very persuasive in achieving goals and gaining objectives. You can be very detailed and well-organized and possess great organizational skills. At times you may appear too stubborn and overly critical to others, but your practical approach to life and productivity makes you one of the most beneficent members of the community.
I don’t know how it is so spot-on, but it is absolutely right. I have also named my amazing son, Juan, which is the first four letters of my name. Juan’s name meaning is exactly the same as mine and I know for sure that he is a gift to this world. Juan and his beautiful wife Katja, in turn, named their daughter Jana, which is also from my name… JuANitA, which means… “She knows”.
Superblessed with gratitude to have learned over the years that we hold our beliefs and reality in our own hands and we create our own destiny…
We are superblessed for sure…
